Wild fires prompt LVMH to move Watch Week from Los Angeles to New York and Paris (UPDATED)

LVMH says it will schedule smaller events to show Watch Week launches around the world in February.

Major watch and jewelry stores, such as Polacheck’s in Calabasas, have so far escaped the devastation of this week’s wild fires around Los Angeles, despite its proximity just 10 miles north of the Palisades blaze.

However, one casualty of the disaster is the cancelation of LVMH Watch Week, which was due to take place in LA this month.

LVMH’s growing portfolio of brands: Bulgari, Hublot, TAG Heuer, Zenith, Tiffany & Co. and Louis Vuitton all have launch events planned for Watch Week.

Launches from the LVMH stable will proceed on the same day the event was due to to open — January 21 — but the company has informed editors due to attend that it is no longer going ahead in California.

US-based guests for LVMH Watch Week are being instead to an event in New York over the same two days, January 21-22, while Europeans will go to a similar presentation in Paris from January 30-31.
