Speedie fans have saluted the creation of Omega’s Speedmaster Pilot with a special cockpit-inspired dial.
It is the second Pilot introduced since the summer, following on from a piece dubbed the Speedmaster Pilot Flight Qualified that was only available to buy for US military aviators.
Now in the core collection, priced at $9,500, the watch lands in a 40.85mm brushed steel case with a closed back and integrated bracelet.
It is sold with a gray NATO strap and a special travel pouch.
It has a matt black dial with 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph counter subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock with triangular yellow and orange hands inspired by cockpit instruments.
Its central chronograph hand has an orange tip shaped like a fighter jet.
The watch is run from a self-winding Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9900 with 60 hour power reserve.
