Skagen has cut loose all of its connected watches.
The Fossil Group-owned watch brand confirmed to WatchPro today that they have been “strategically discontinued as the brand feels that they are going towards a direction which isn’t compatible with the category”.
However, the Skagen smartwatch app will still be updated and maintained for wearers to continue to use, including an update to Wear OS 3 in 2023.
Skagen has experimented with a number of configurations for connected watches including the full touchscreen Falster Gen 6 Smartwatch running Wear OS by Google, which launched last year.
Skagen Jorn Gen 6 Smartwatch. Also new in 2022 was the Jorn Gen 6 Hybrid Smartwatch that combined clean, Scandi-style dials with features such as built in Alexa voice commands, an upgraded heart rate sensor with blood oxygen monitoring and a new wellness dashboard to keep all key stats in one place.
Fossil Group’s other major watch brands, for example Michael Kors and Diesel, continue to offer connected watches.
