Audemars Piguet has opened a second AP House in Italy’s fashion capital, Milan.
The lounge is on Via Bagutta, on the edge of the city’s ‘golden rectangle’ of luxury boutiques. The narrow street is also home to Tiffany & Co. and AP shares a nine-floor building with Louis Vuitton.
It is the 20th AP House in the world, joining a network that spans Amsterdam, Bangkok, Barcelona, Hong Kong, London, Los Angeles, Madrid, Munich, New York, Shanghai, Tel Aviv, Tokyo and Zurich.
AP House Milan is in a former multi-storey car park known Garage Traversi, which operated from 1939 to 2003 before being completely gutted and refurbished into a hub for luxury and creativity.
Audemars Piguet has more than 17,000 square feet across the building’s 5th to 9th floors with each space designed by Lissoni & Partners, an architecture and interior design studio based in Milan and New York.
In addition to the traditional AP House lounge space, the new location has a watch exhibition floor where contemporary and heritage timepieces are presented side by side.
The various floors are linked by a spiral staircase — a nod to the mainspring of a watch, AP says — and are topped off by a scenic rooftop with 360-degree views of Milan’s skyline and historical landmarks
