Tudor has cranked up its investment in Formula 1 this year, building on its existing partnership with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls team by releasing the Black Bay Chrono Carbon 25 in a limited edition of 2,025 pieces that can be bought by the race-loving public.
Previously, Tudor has only made watches for the engineers and other employees of the team.
The deepening partnership has led to a sharing of expertise in the design and construction of the new Black Bay Chrono.
It comes in a full carbon fibre case and bezel with a black PVD-finished titanium case back.
The 42mm case is slightly slimmer than equivalent models in steel, and obviously lighter — following the F1 mission to constantly balance weight, strength and aerodynamics.
It is powered by a COSC-certified manufacture MT5813 automatic chronograph movement with a silicon balance spring and 70-hour power reserve.
It has a bright white dial with black panda eye counters and a date at 6 o’clock.
White-lumed hands are framed in black while the vivid blue of the Racing Bulls livery is used for the Tudor logo and split seconds track.
The watch is worn on a hybrid leather-rubber strap embossed with a tyre pattern.
It is on sale now for $7,575 + tax.
