TAG Heuer takes over timing duties at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

Racing green Carrera Chronograph launched to mark the new partnership.

First LVMH and TAG Heuer toppled Rolex from its peerless position as the watchmaker of Formula 1, now it has seized the steering wheel for the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it is taking over from Richemont’s Montblanc as official timekeeper.

This year’s event runs from July 10 to 13 in the grounds of Goodwood House in the South of England’s rolling hills.

To mark the new partnership, TAG Heuer has unveiled a Carrera Chronograph x Festival of Speed with a British Racing Green dial, which has been etched with a hobnail texture.

It has sporty red accents and is worn on a driver’s brown, perforated leather strap, but lacks the tachymeter scale of many racing chronographs.

The 42mm automatic steel watch is a limited edition of 700 is on sale for £6,450.

“Motorsport is not just about the competition, it is a cultural force, just like TAG Heuer, and we are honored to return as Timing Partner at the Goodwood Festival of Speed,” says Antoine Pin, CEO of TAG Heuer.

“Celebrating the artist expression of the automotive universe and those who shape it, while providing a moment to look to the future of innovation in the industry, we could think of no better event to partner with and share our passion for these topics.”
