Richemont has plugged two holes in its top team today, first with the appointment of Laurent Perves as CEO at Vacheron Constantin, and now with news that Jérôme Lambert is returning to take the reins at Jaeger-LeCoultre.
There has been a vacancy at JLC since Nicolas Bos, who replaced Mr Lambert as CEO at the maison in 2013, was promoted to global president and chief executive of Van Cleef & Arpels.
Mr Lambert is a lifer at Richemont, having also run Montblanc and, more recently, overseeing all of the brands as group CEO, a role he will retain when he steps back into direct management of JLC on January 1.
“It is with profound honour and genuine pleasure that I return to the Grande Maison, the place where I first set foot into the magnificent world of Swiss watchmaking,” Mr Lambert says.
“This opportunity is both a privilege and a homecoming to the craft and heritage that have shaped my career.”
A statement from Richemont says Mr Lambert will bring to bear his deep knowledge of the watch industry and affinity with the JLC maison as well as his vast group experience to maintain its pioneering role in Swiss watchmaking and ensure its long-term success.
