High-ranking watch executive prepares to embark on a new chapter in his career after 10 years at the helm of luxury watch giant's USA operations

Ira Melnitsky said he remains “incredibly proud” of the transformation that took place at Tourneau/Bucherer USA during his decade in charge of the business as he prepares to embark on a new chapter in his career.

Mr Melnitsky served as president and CEO of the watch business over what he calls an “extraordinary” 10 years.

He confirmed his departure on LinkedIn last week, writing: “The journey from a struggling organization to one that is now highly successful has been nothing short of remarkable.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to every member of the team, now and in the past, who had a role in all of our accomplishments.

“The results were achieved by a talented group of people who exhibited unwavering dedication, hard work, passion and professionalism.”

Mr Melnitsky was in the hotseat when Bucherer bought Tourneau and oversaw some significant refurbishments, including Time Machine in New York and Time Dome in Las Vegas.

Mr Melnitsky described his journey at the business as “rewarding” and said he would carry the invaluable experiences and memories that his colleagues helped to create into his next venture.

“From the long hours to the creative solutions and countless obstacles we’ve overcome, your commitment has been the driving force behind our collective success. It has been an honor to work alongside such accomplished individuals,” he added.
