Citizen Watch UK, which manages wholesale and direct to consumer ecommerce sales for Citizen, Bulova, Frederique Constant and Alpina in this country, generated sales of £34 million in its latest financial year, which ended in March, 2025.
In a year of falling UK sales for most luxury Swiss brands, watches from the Japanese group’s marques were flying out of cabinets, with turnover reaching a new record after rising by 5.4% over the previous 12 months.
Operating profit soared by 81% to £2.2 million.
Citizen celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, which helped the brand to connect with consumers looking for heritage as well as technological leadership such as the maker’s expertise in the use of titanium and its in-house movement manufacturing at Miyota.
It has also been on a relentless march upmarket with automatics growing their share of sales against higher volume quartz models.
In the UK, the business says it made a significant investment in both point of sale displays and digital assets to tell the Citizen story, and is maintaining this marketing activity into the current financial year.
Stablemate Bulova is currently benefiting from its status as Official Timekeeper of the Hundred cricket tournament, which the company believes will propel sales to new levels of growth.
