Big wave surfer Laird Hamilton helps introduce Bremont’s latest Supermarine Waterman Apex II

The Waterman Apex II, an addition to the Supermarine family, is perfect for an all-action water sports obsessive like Mr Hamilton, whose expertise and entrepreneurial spirit have also seen him pioneer crossover board sports including tow-in surfing, stand-up paddle boarding and hydrofoil boarding.

Bremont has unveiled a second limited edition Waterman watch in collaboration with American big wave surfer and brand ambassador Laird Hamilton.

Bremont’s latest limited edition, with a production run of just 350 pieces, is also a bit of a crossover with water resistance up to 500 meters combining in a GMT watch with date.

It has a pale blue 60 minute internal bezel for keeping time of a dive and a normal black ceramic bezel showing the 24 hour clock for the second time zone hand.

Black or blue dials has a wave-textured centre and applied hour markers filled with the same lume as sword-shaped hours and minutes hands.

The 43mm steel watch is powered by a modified Calibre 11 BE-932AV, based on the ETA 2892-A2, which is enclosed behind a steel case back carrying a picture of a sea plane.

It is sold on an integrated rubber strap in black or blue that can be swapped for a stainless-steel bracelet.

Prices start at $5,150.
