Emotion is at the heart of the luxury watch and jewelry industry, and that appears to have been the inspiration behind a newly revamped website for Scottsdale-based Oliver Smith Jeweler.

While most jewelers’ home pages are peppered with the latest watch and jewelry they hope to sell, Oliver Smith, under the direction of father and daughter Oliver and Elizabeth Smith, has opted for people, heritage and lifestyle.

Only once you scroll down are you presented with items to buy, ranging from other pieces from the Oliver Smith Jeweler fine jewelry collections along with pre-owned watches and timepieces from its brand partners including Cartier, Blancpain, Parmigiani, Panerai and Roger Dubuis.

Family jewelers like to highlight their roots and heritage in local communities and Oliver Smith achieves this with a walk through its history since being founded in California in 1980 before relocating to Arizona in 1984 and then onto the launch of its current five stores in Scottsdale and Aspen.

There are also profiles on the whole team and archive pictures of earlier stores the family at work over several decades as they built the business.
