Omega has launched a new version of the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m in dedication to the world record set by pole vaulter Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis.
Duplantis won Olympic gold in Paris, breaking his own world record with a height of 6.25m on his very final vault.
At a photoshoot celebrating his win, the pole vaulter wore a Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M “Ultra Light” in blue and yellow.
This is now being released as another Mondo Duplantis edition of the watch.
Omega got particular value from its brand ambassador after he rushed into the crowd to embrace his fashion model partner Desiré Inglander (603,000 followers on Instagram), who was wearing an Omega Constellation.
The blue and yellow color scheme is in honor of the flag of Duplantis’s home country.
It is the second Duplantis special edition, following an earlier tribute to the Omega ambassador released in June.
The new Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m Mondo Duplantis has a 41mm titanium case that is water-resistant to 150m.
It is powered by Omega’s 8928 Ti manual-winding movement with Co-axial escapement and twin barrels for a 72-hour power reserve.
The anti-magnetic in-house movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
The Grade 5 titanium cased watch weighs just 55g and is on sale for £48,400 / $51,300.
