There are just three days left to experience an immersive installation in New York presenting the 50 year history of Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak.

A contemporary street exhibition is taking place in the Hudson Yards’ Public Square and Gardens until Wednesday, May 25.

Visitors are invited to dive deep into the Royal Oak’s cultural universe and follow the journey of this timepiece from its first inspirations to its evolving conversation with the larger cultural world.

The Royal Oak was designed by Gérald Genta for Audemars Piguet and unveiled on April 15, 1972, at the Basel Fair.

Events have been taking place around the world to mark the 50th anniversary, including a star-studded party at Audemars Piguet’s new AP House in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.

In Hudson Yards, AP is walking visitors through the history of the Royal Oak before putting their knowledge to the test with an entertaining digital challenge.

“We are delighted to celebrate the Royal Oak’s 50th anniversary with our community and watch lovers worldwide. This icon is 50 years young today! It is this incredible youthful spirit that has driven its evolution since the beginning, keeping it ahead of its time,” says François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet.
