Bonhams is auctioning number one of a 50-piece limited-edition IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works Collector’s Sets
All proceeds from the sale will go to children’s charity the Two Bit Circus Foundation in a timed online auction that began at the weekend and ends on October 22 at Bonhams.com.
Two Bit Circus Foundation creates learning experiences for children to inspire entrepreneurship, encourage young inventors and instill environmental stewardship.
IWC unveiled the box set at this week’s 78th Goodwood Members’ Meeting where the IWC Racing team’s Mercedes-Benz 300 SL took to the track.
All great boys’ toys selling to affluent middle aged men should evoke memories of their childhoods, and few could hit the spot better than the combination of a Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition IWC x Hot Wheels Racing Works timepiece and a precision plinth-mounted model Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz 300SL Racing Works Edition, presented in a bespoke metal toolbox.
The watch comes in a 43mm titanium case engraved with the Hot Wheels flame logo on the side. It houses an IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre, which can be seen through a smoked glass case back.
The other 49 from the limited edition series will retail for $10,000.
Bidding at Bonhams.com currently sits at £13,000 ($17,850).
