Maurice Lacroix’s new Aikon Automatic Bronze has been released, bringing a new interpretation to a model that has established itself as a modern classic.
Established in 2016, and initially a reinterpretation of the brand’s Calypso model, the Aikon makes showcases the natural qualities of bronze and the way it develops a distinctive and personalized patina over time.
The new Aikon comes in a 42mm brushed bronze case, while the open stainless steel caseback provides the wearer with a glimpse of the Maurice Lacroix logo-adorned rotor on the timepiece’s movement – the Automatic ML135 calibre, made in collaboration with Sellita.
Unlike its predecessor, which sported a deep blue dial, the new Automatic Bronze comes with a gradient smoked chocolate dial.
The application of white Super-LumiNova® inserts, on both on the indices and the hour/minute hands, ensures strong legibility even in dim light.
The brand’s CEO, Maurice Lacroix’s CEO, said: “In under a decade, Aikon has become a synonym for urban flair, and the range of references continues to expand.
“At the core of Aikon’s ongoing evolution is Maurice Lacroix’s mindset, which permeates every facet of our brand and our company: Be Creative. In this spirit, the Automatic Bronze is yet another testament to how the fusion of materials, colours and textures with precision, reliability and durability can forge something novel and distinctive,” he concluded.
With a water resistance of 20 ATM, a brown leather strap embellished with the hallmark ‘M’ emblem, and the brand’s proprietary EasyStrap system, the new series is limited to 888 pieces, as has become customary with the Aikon line.
