The 1916 Company, which was created last year with the coming together of WatchBox with Govberg, Radcliffe and Hyde Park Jewelers, is hosting collectors events focusing on F.P. Journe for four days of the upcoming Madison Avenue Watch Week (MAWW).
The 1916 Company has a particular focus on independent, artisanal watchmakers, and is inviting its Collector’s Circle members and the public to sessions from May 1 to 4 at its 4th floor lounge at 595 Madison Avenue.
The lounge will become a permanent home to “The 1916 Journe Gallery”, which is a perpetual presentation of the watchmaker’s timepieces along with educational talks and consultations with experts steeped in the work of the Swiss master.
“Join Jack Forster, George Mayer and Tim Moss for an open dialogue on why, after two and a half decades, F.P. Journe is more exciting to collectors and connoisseurs than ever before,” The 1916 Company encourages.
The week kicks-off on Tuesday, April 30, from 6pm to 8pm with an evening cocktails celebrating the 10th Annual Madison Avenue Watch Week.
Wednesday, May 1 – Saturday, May 4 (11am-6pm daily)

The brand’s 2024 novelties are indicative of this philosophy, highly technical with a powerful contemporary aesthetic. Join us for an interactive analysis of the DB Kind of Grande Complication and the DB28xs Purple Rain with Tim Mosso, George Mayer, and independent watchmaking enthusiast Christopher Daaboul, as we explore how these pieces speak to the history and the future of De Bethune.
