Picture the scene: reclining at a marina-side bar on the Mediterranean, the setting sun dancing off the white tops of the waves on a clear blue sea; a pair of Jacques Marie Mage sunglasses shielding you from the glare.
Parmigiani wants to provide the wristwear for this idyllic summer holiday scene in the form of a new Tonda PF Sport Chronograph that’s as easy to wear as it is understatedly luxurious and precise in every mechanical and aesthetic detail.
It comes in a bright, gleeful watch that has a silver guilloché dial with a triangular nail pattern in the tone of a pale sandy beach.
This is teamed with an 18ct rose gold case, bezels crown and pushers and a rubber strap with a woven textile pattern in a similar sandy hue to the dial — the perfect combination to complement that holiday tan.
“The Tonda PF Sport Chronograph in rose gold sandstone reflects our pursuit of essential beauty in watchmaking. It merges mechanical excellence, through a high-frequency chronograph calibre, with the informal elegance of the summer lifestyle,” suggests Guido Terreni, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier.
That high-frequency calibre is a COSC-certified PF070 automatic column wheel chronograph movement beating at 5 Hz, and offering a 65-hour power reserve.
Seen through an exhibition case back, it is presented with a 22-carat rose gold oscillating weight that is skeletonised to expose the satin finishing and precise bevelling of the openworked movement.
The 42mm x 12.9 mm rose gold case is water resistant to 100 metres.
