Hublot has announced a watch that pays tribute to the cultural heritage of Canada.
The watch has white and red detailing reflecting the colors on the country’s flag.
Those colors are said to have various meanings.
The maple leaf has long been a national symbol of Canada, with red symbolizing the leaf in its fall hues.
White can be said to represent the snowy landscape of the country referred to as the Great White North.
But white is also a well-established color of peace, and Canada – with its low crime rates and long history of diplomacy – is considered a very peaceful nation.
The Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada has a 42mm frosted carbon case.
It is powered by Hublot’s HUB 1280 in-house Unico movement with 72-hour power reserve.
It comes on a signature black rubber strap and is supplied with an interchangeable calf leather strap with red and white stitching.
The watch is supplied in a special oak box with a Canadian maple leaf on the top.
The Big Bang Unico Carbon Canada costs $29,900 (CAD$37,200) and is a limited edition of 50 pieces. www.hublot.com
