Girard-Perregaux has unveiled a new golden-toned version of its La Esmeralda Tourbillon.
La Esmeralda Tourbillon is a wristwatch with intricate engravings that nod to a 19th century pocket watch of the same name.
The pocket watch by Constant Girard won a gold medal at the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition.
The three-bridge design has become a Girard-Perregaux calling card.
The new ‘A Secret’ Eternity Edition Honey has a 43mm pink gold case with matching gold bridges, and a honey-colored grand feu dial.
The case, lugs, bezel and buckle all bear engravings that echo the pocket watch.
Girard-Perregaux is still located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, where its origins date back to the late 18th century.
The Swiss city was the birthplace of Constant Girard, the watchmaker who married Marie Perregaux, leading to the creation of Girard-Perregaux.
La Chaux-de-Fonds was a source of inspiration for this watch.
The “warm golden tones” in the city on summer evenings inspired the “rich honey-hued tones” of this latest version of La Esmeralda.
The watch is powered by manufacture calibre GP09600 automatic movement with white gold micro-rotor.
The new version is limited to 18 watches, available on request from Girard-Perregaux authorised retailers worldwide.
