Girard-Perregaux continues its partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team with the launch of the Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition.
This limited-edition timepiece, restricted to just 88 pieces, follows the color-shifting green-dialed Laureato Chronograph launched in just a few weeks ago in February.
Encased in Grade 5 titanium, the 44mm model is engineered for strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight durability with a 300-metre water resistance, while the sandblasted finish enhances its tactile appeal for a stealthy, modern aesthetic.
Like its predecessor, the dial showcases the iconic Aston Martin Racing Green, a color synonymous with the marque’s motorsport legacy.
Applied indices and skeletonized hour and minute hands, inspired by Aston Martin’s signature grille design, are coated with luminescent material, and accents of lime green on the central seconds hand and date display mirror the detailing found on Aston Martin’s F1 cars.
Since the 1970s, Girard-Perregaux has pioneered in-house movement development, and this model is no different. Inside the case beats the GP03300-1060 caliber, an in-house self-winding mechanical movement crafted in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
With 218 components and 27 jewels, it offers a 46-hour power reserve and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). This movement is detailed with Girard-Perregaux’s signature finishing, including circular Côtes de Genève and beveled bridges.
Swapping the previous Girard-Perregaux Aston Martin watch’s steel bracelet for a sportier green FKM rubber strap with a fabric effect, it provides enhanced flexibility and superior wear resistance compared to conventional rubber.
Though the maison is not showing at Watches & Wonders in less than two weeks, this head-turning release is sure to rev horological engines.
