Chopard was officially keeping time at this week’s California Mille, which ended yesterday, but missing the vintage car jamboree does not mean you cannot buy a piece of the race’s history because a brand new Mille Miglia GTS Automatic Chrono California Mille (33rd Edition) has been created to mark the event.
The California Mille has been running for 33 years and Chopard has been its official timekeeper for the past six outings.
“Lovers of fine cars often have a great weakness for precious timepieces and vice versa,” says Chopard co-CEO Karl-Friedrich Scheufele. “Extreme precision and sporting elegance are important in both these field,” he adds.
Chopard’s Mille Miglia GTS Automatic Chrono California Mille, a limited edition of 25 pieces, comes with a beige dial with green and red racing stripes on the dial as a nod to the flag of Italy, the spiritual home of Mille Miglia.
The 44mm steel watch is a chronometer-certified chronograph with a highly legible dial thanks to baton hands and large hour-markers.
It is on sale now for $9,310.
