Casio has unveiled a new range of G-Shocks with a distinctive two-tone color scheme.
Five new watches use the same black and brown color scheme across five different G-Shock models.
The Two-Tone Utility Colour series is five models covering the best-known G-Shock shapes.
The models are: GA110TU-1A5, DW6900TU-1A5, GX56TU-1A5, GA710TU-1A3 and GA100TU-1A3.
They are aimed, Casio says, at the ‘gorpcore’ trend, functional clothes as fashion wear – best demonstrated by the North Face jacket going from no-nonsense mountain wear, to a must-have for kids.
The new watches, launched by Casio America Inc, are inspired by the colors of G-Shock’s Mudmaster series.
The Mudmaster – with solar charging, built-in compass, carbon elements and more is a one of G-Shock’s premium watches – with prices generally in the several hundreds of dollars.
The new range, in contrast, is pitched at G-Shock’s entry level, with prices starting at $110.
This being G-Shock, the price does not mean any sacrifice in toughness.
The watches are shock-resistant and have 200m water-resistance.
Each watch also has a stopwatch, a countdown timer, a 12/24 hour format, and tells the time in 48 cities.
