Audemars Piguet has announced a new forged carbon version of its top of the line Royal Oak Concept chronograph.
The black and blue Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date has a 43mm case made from a new carbon material.
The new material comes from Audemars Piguet’s R&D workshops and uses non-porous Chroma Forged Technology (CFT) to give a deep black with touches of colour.
It also gives increased resistance to humidity, heat and shocks.
The new watch is the latest addition to AP’s Concept collection.
“This new CFT carbon is testament to our teams’ expertise and to the endless quest for innovation that has driven Audemars Piguet since its inception in 1875,” said Ilaria Resta, CEO of Audemars Piguet. “It also opens up new creative horizons, promising many surprises for haute horlogerie enthusiasts in the years to come.”
Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date is powered by AP’s Calibre 4407 automatic movement with minimum reserve of 70 hours.
It is a flyback, split-seconds chronograph movement, with a 24-hour GMT function.
It comes on a black and blue rubber strap with titanium AP folding clasp.
With additional interchangeable black and blue rubber strap.
