Atlantic has upgraded the movement in a fresh range of Worldmaster Prestige Valjoux chronographs.
Their heightened value comes from the use of historic ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movements, which were first introduced in 1973 and have powered many of the most iconic chronographs of the late 20th century.
Still in production, they are used more rarely now, making the Atlantic collection all the more desirable.
Atlantic has made the switch as a tribute to enduring craftsmanship and mechanical artistry in Swiss watchmaking, an industry it has been part of since 1888.
There are two 42mm models in the new Worldmaster Prestige Valjoux chronograph range.
First is a polished steel model where a cream dial is paired with a perforated brown leather strap.
Alternatively, there is a black DLC-coated piece with a black and white dial and black leather strap.
Every detail a racing team may need is on the dial: central hours, minutes and chronograph hand; 30-minute and one-hour counters and a day-date display.
Both watches have sapphire crystal case backs exposing the ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph day-date movement, which has 48-hour power reserve.
The stainless steel piece is priced at $2,000 and the Black DLC version is $2,250.
