Artisan independents return for Indies.NYC in October

Eight rarely-seen indies stage a meeting at the same time as WatchTime and WindUp Watch Fair in New York

An eclectic line-up of independent watchmakers from around the world will gather in New York in October for an evening of haute horology with the city’s collectors.

The meet takes place on October 16 in the same week as the New York editions of WindUp Watch Fair and WatchTime’s more luxury-focused event.

Under the auspices of Indies.NYC, which launched in 2023, eight independent watchmakers will gather at Hudson Yards to speak directly with enthusiasts.

It takes place in an undisclosed private residence whose location, for security reasons, will be shared with invited guests and members of the public who register.

The line-up comprises Didier Cavasino from Switzerland, Hodinky Berkus from the Czech Republic, Kross Studio from Switzerland, Love Hunter from USA, M.A.D. Editions from Switzerland, KLANIC by Philippe Narbel from Switzerland, Rogé Bastide from France and Statera from Brazil.

“Indies.NYC is a community shaped as much by New York City as by independent watchmaking itself. People don’t just come to see watches. They come to connect — to grab a drink, share a burger, catch a live slam, and dive into real horology. No velvet ropes, no glass showcases. Just an open space that feels more like a creative studio hangout than a traditional fair,” the event’s organizer promises.

“For me, Indies.NYC is about creating a space where watchmakers and collectors can sit down together — not across a glass showcase, but across a table. It feels less like a fair and more like a gathering of friends, where stories, laughter, and passion for watchmaking are shared openly,” adds Jon Cruys, founder of Indies.NYC, as well as the founder of RedBar Shanghai.
