Analog:Shift, a vintage and pre-owned watch specialist, is hosting an exhibition of historic Accutron watches at its New York headquarters.
Analog:Shift has been owned by the Watches of Switzerland Group since 2020.
The month-long event, named The Tipping Point, describes how Accutron delivered some of the watch industry’s most innovative engineering and design in the 1960s.
Most significantly, Accutron developed the first fully electronic watch and its proprietary movement powered by electrostatic energy.
“Analog:Shift is founded on a true passion for the history of the wristwatch. The introduction of the original Accutron is one of the most significant milestones in timepiece development, and the brand has a rich legacy of design, technological innovation, and compelling stories that carry through to today,” says James Lamdin, founder of Analog:Shift.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Accutron to showcase a selection of significant vintage and contemporary wristwatches from their archive collection that chronicle this amazing history in The Tipping Point Exhibition, hosted at our own New York City Headquarters.”
