A pioneer of sports watches, Alpina has expanded its roster of professional athlete ambassadors – nicknamed ‘Alpanists’ – with the addition of American skier Colby Stevenson.
At 27 years old, Utah-born Stevenson is an Olympic Silver Medalist, five times X Games Medalist and winner of the Kings and Queens of Corbet’s 2023.
The first rookie to win ski Slopestyle at X Games, Stevenson is also the first athlete ever to win two gold medals at his first X Games (Aspen 2020 Ski Slopestyle, Knuckle Huck).
These victories are all the more impressive given his survival of a near fatal car accident that led to a traumatic brain injury in 2016. After a remarkable recovery, Stevenson won his first World Cup eight months later.
Stevenson also excels in the backcountry and has won multiple awards for his film parts in ‘Crescendo’ and ‘Proof’, the latter of which will be released online on 26 November 2024.
“I’m honored to join the Alpina family as a brand ambassador, alongside amazing athletes from different sports. We’re all sharing the same drive to constantly improve and take our sport to the next level, just like Alpina does” added Stevenson.
Alpina brand director Oliver van Lanschot Hubrecht said: “We are very proud to welcome Colby Stevenson into our Alpinists family. Colby impresses with the mark he is making on both freestyle and slopestyle skiing with podiums in events such as the Olympics and the X Games, as well as being the winner of Kings and Queens of Corbet’s 2023. We look forward to seeing how far he will take the sport in the future.”
Designing luxury sports watches with exceptional accuracy and reliability in extreme environments, Alpina has an enduring commitment to the mountain environment. Its team of athletes support the brand’s spirit of adventure and innovation.
