Oliver Smith’s November auction features prize watches from Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne and Rolex

Star lots in this month's sale include a 42mm Vacheron Constantin Malte, a 2008 A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange three-hander and a bi-colour Rolex Daytona.

More than 50 lots are being previewed this week for the latest watches and jewelry auction from Scottsdale-based Oliver Smith Jewelers.

The Arizona jeweler, which also has stores in Aspen, Colorado, holds regular sales for pre-owned and vintage pieces using video-conferencing platform Zoom to allow people to bid like they are in a live sale room.

November’s auction takes place next Wednesday, the 13th, at 5 pm AZ/MST. Watches and jewelry in the sale are already online and can be seen in-person at Oliver Smith’s flagship showroom in Scottsdale’s Gainey Village, which hosts the live auction with Oliver Smith and George Reid running proceedings.

All watches are sold with a two-year Oliver Smith warranty that is issued after a meticulous authentication process by the jeweler’s in-house team of watchmakers.

Star lots in this month’s sale include a 42mm Vacheron Constantin Malte in platinum displaying hours, minutes, calendar, chronograph and moonphase on a white dial.

It has a pre-auction guide price of $48,000.

A 2008 A. Lange & Sohne Richard Lange three-hander in rose gold with a brown croc leather strap is being pitched with a starting price of $19,000.

Patek Philippe sports watch fans may be tempted by a 35mm Aquanaut, a quartz watch made originally for ladies in 2004, but right on the cusp of being something men would wear in today’s market.

It has a pre-sale price of $18,000.

No auction is complete with a Rolex Daytona, and Oliver Smith has a starting price tag of just $12,000 for a 40mm bi-color steel and gold ref. 16523.

The watch, thought to be from around 1997, is sold with its original papers.

Oliver Smith is a bit of a specialist in Panerai watches, thanks to running a boutique for the brand in Aspen, and there are a number of lots in the November auction for the Paneristas ranging in price from $5,100 for a black-dialed Panerai Luminor (ref. PAM00004) to $15,000 for a Panerai Submersible “Bronzo” (ref. PAM00671).
