MoonSwatch falls back to earth

Mission to EarthPhase has two celestial complications on the same dial.

Swatch is spooling through desirable complications from the Swiss watchmaking canon with its MoonSwatch collection.

Its latest edition, the MoonSwatch Mission to EarthPhase, introduces an earthphase display, which shows how our planet appears from the moon, alongside a moonphase.

Two chronograph subdials make way for the celestial complications, but there is still a central stopwatch hand and small seconds at 6 o’clock.

Depictions of the earth on dials of prestigious watchmakers are not new, although they more commonly show the whole of the planet, rather than with a slice of it in darkness because of the shadow cast by the moon.

Swatch says there have never before been moonphase and earthphase displays on the same dial.

Unlike most recent MoonSwatch launches, the Mission to Earthphase is not limited.
