Timex x Maison Margiela collaboration blurs lines between streetwear and high fashion

Timex meets high fashion with T80 watch and ring combo gift set

Maison Margiela is a Belgian fashion house known for fancy split-toed leather Tabi shoes.

A few years ago the avant-garde label launched its more contemporary MM6 sub brand.

It is known for “idiosyncratic pieces that blur the lines between streetwear and high fashion” and it has now teamed up with Timex to make a version of the T80 digital watch.

On the dial it has MM6’s signature lettering –  with the number 6 highlighted – that is normally seen on their high-fashion T-shirts.

As well as the watch you get a miniaturised version of the watch to be worn as a ring.

The watch and ring combo conform to what MM6 calls its “Ways to Wear It” philosophy and this collaboration “empowers wearers to explore endless possibilities” and makes time an “expression of individuality”.

Beyond the lettering on the dial and bracelet clasp,  you get the standard T80 features.

So there is a 36mm stainless steel case with 30m water-resistance.

It has the usual functions of chronograph, alarm, and Indiglo backlight

The ring watch has a 20mm case, the same MM6 lettering, and is also water-resistant to 30m.

The little stainless steel bracelet adjusts to fit your finger.
