Carl F. Bucherer takes us back to the jet age

New Heritage Worldtimer is an updated version of a watch from the 1950s

The 1950s was a time of great hope, as jet travel started to open the world up to more people.

Carl F. Bucherer is paying tribute to that era with the new Heritage Worldtimer.

It is an updated version of a classic from the brand’s back catalogue, one of the first watches to have a second timezone.

The new watch has an in-house automatic movement and is available with a 39mm case in either stainless steel or rose gold.

The rose gold version has a white dial and is a limited edition of 88 watches.

It comes on a black fabric strap with a gold pin buckle.

The steel version is unlimited and has a choice of a silver or a black dial, and comes on a black textile strap or a stainless-steel bracelet.

Both the strap and bracelet have a quick-release mechanism, so you can change looks as required.

The watch has two crowns – one to wind the movement and adjust the time, the other to operate the time-zone complication.

The 33- jewel COSC-certified movement has a power reserve of 55 hours.

It has a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a sapphire crystal caseback, and is water resistant to 30 metres.
