Panerai Submersible echoes style of America’s Cup racing boat

Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa takes cues from the AC75 boat and its crew.

Panerai has produced a Submersible QuarantaQuattro that echoes the style of a sailing boat taking part in the 37th America’s Cup.

Panerai became official sponsor of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli team in 2019 and the new watch is the latest fruit of the partnership.

The Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa PAM01681 has a sun-brushed silver dial that mirrors the boat’s reflective hull.

Grey and red tones, in turn, reflect the colours of the Luna Rossa team uniform.

The caseback carries an engraving of the Luna Rossa AC75 boat.

The watch is powered by P.900 calibre automatic movement with three-day power reserve,

The 44mm brushed steel case is water resistant to 300m.

The unidirectional steel bezel carries a black polished disc in scratch-resistant ceramic.

“Our association with the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team resonates deeply with Panerai’s maritime heritage and our pursuit of boundary-pushing performance,” said Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO of Panerai. “This partnership is a natural extension of our brand’s core values,”

He added: “We have carefully designed this watch to capture the essence of the team’s advanced AC75 boat, translating its design language into a wearable piece that resonates with sailing enthusiasts and watch collectors alike.”

Max Sirena, team director and captain of the Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli, added: “The synergy with Panerai takes us on a shared journey in pushing the limits of performance, where precision, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of excellence are at the heart of our endeavours.”

Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa PAM01681 is limited to 137 pieces and priced at $12,100.
