Breitling unveils first perpetual calendar chronograph movement

New Caliber B19 movement in three different models is part of Breitling’s 140th anniversary celebrations

Breitling has unveiled its first perpetual calendar chronograph movement as part of ongoing celebrations for the brand’s 140th birthday.

The new Caliber B19 makes its debut in three gold limited edition watches spanning three of Breitling’s best-known models.

The first is the Premier B19 Datora 42 140th Anniversary.

It has a 42mm 18k red gold case with a black dial and a black alligator leather strap with 18 k gold folding buckle.

Next is the Navitimer B19 Chronograph Perpetual Calendar.

It has a 43mm 18k red gold case, an 18k red gold dial and is also on a black alligator leather strap with gold folding buckle.

Finally, there is the Super Chronomat B19 Perpetual Calendar.

It has a 44mm 18k red gold case with a grey skeletonised dial and comes on a black rubber strap.

Each limited edition comes in a suede-lined wooden box that can be configured to hold up to three watches – just in case anyone wants to buy all three and display them together.

All three watches are in limited editions of 140 pieces (of course) and are priced the same, at $59,000.

In addition to making its first perpetual calendar, Breitling has also opened its first pop-up museum, in central Zurich.

The museum, called Breitling Then & Now, celebrates “140 years of firsts” and looks back on all of the brand’s watchmaking achievements in 140 years of business.
