Tudor has brought out a version of its Black Bay Chrono with a new dial color.
The boutique exclusive, first unveiled at Watches and Wonders in the spring, uses a color the brand refers to as ‘Tudor Blue’.
Inspiration for the watch comes from the Seventies, with the ‘snowflake’ hands a Tudor staple, first introduced in 1969.
Aside from the dial color, fans of the watch will know what they are getting.
It has a 41mm stainless steel case that is water-resistant to a useful 200m.
The MT5813 in-house column wheel chronograph movement has a silicon balance spring, vertical clutch and a strong 70-hour power reserve.
The watch comes on a five-link stainless-steel bracelet with a Tudor rapid-adjustment clasp for fitting over a wetsuit.
The clasp has ceramic ball bearings to ensure smooth operation.
The fixed steel bezel has a tachymetric scale insert in blue anodized aluminium.
The domed blue dial is satin sun-brushed, with contrasting silver circular sub-counters.
The dial features a 45-minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock and a date window at 6 o’clock.
Like all new Tudor watches, it comes with a five-year transferable guarantee.
Hans Wilsdorf created the Tudor brand in the 1920s as a more affordable alternative to Rolex.
In recent years the brand has identified a strong identity of its own, particularly due to the Black Bay line.
