Andersen Genève has produced a limited edition version of its Jumping Hours watch with a black jade stone dial.
Only 50 are being made, most likely over several years since the watchmaker manufactures only around 50 watches in total, per year.
The Jumping Hour watch was launched as part of Andersen Genève’s 40th anniversary celebrations in 2020 as a mark of the special relationship that the style of watch holds for Svend Andersen.
In 1995, Mr Andersen was commissioned to create a watch with a jumping hour display, which he combined with a minute repeater.
He developed his expertise through the production of a number of unique pieces commissioned by customers.
Andersen Genève Jumping Hours watches have since been nominated for craft awards at the GPHG in 2020, 2021 and 2023 — thanks, in part, to the large blank canvas of a dial that the style provides.
The new Jumping Hours contrasts its black jade dial, with its golden minutes subdial and gold-edged aperture at 12 o’clock for the hours, with a bright white 38mm platinum case with a pink gold grown.
A Frédéric Piguet twin barrel calibre 11.50 is used as a base movement with Andersen Genève’s jumping hours mechanism on top.
The movement is presented via an exhibition case back circled by a ring of 21ct BlueGold.
Price is CHF 52,800.
