Strayer creates a watch with the split personality of Bruce Wayne and the Dark Knight

Design of the STR 4602 builds on Ola Stray's patented Strayer interchangeable system that allows a bezel to be swapped without tools.

Swedish watch house Strayer is taking inspiration from the split personalities of Bruce Wayne and his crimefighting alter ego Batman with a special Dark Knight watch with interchangeable bezels that change the character of the watch.

The watch, in a limited edition individually numbered from 1-27, has a Dark Knight dial and an engraving on the back with a Wayne logo.

Strayer designed the watches for Wayne Enterprises (DC Comics) as part of a Wayne Enterprises Experience event in New York City.

They will be unveiled at a secret Bruce Wayne safehouse in Downtown Manhattan on June 3 and be on display for a week at an event where guests can take part in the world’s first shoppable luxury theatrical experience.

Strayer’s watches will be part of a scripted story in which everything you see can be purchased, alongside art, jewellery and other luxury items.

“Welcoming fans into the bespoke world of Bruce Wayne through the Wayne Enterprises Experience is the next step in expanding our portfolio in directions that no one else can compete with,” says Robert Oberschelp, head of Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.

“Exploring this new method of retail storytelling, alongside our partners and curated brands, brings our world-renowned DC licenses to life for fans through captivating experiences and products.”

The design of the STR 4602 builds on Ola Stray’s patented Strayer interchangeable system that allows a bezel to be swapped without tools.

The 43.5mm watch comes in Swedish steel and houses a Swiss-made automatic movement.

It is on sale online at Strayer for $5,000.
