There is fevered speculation about whether New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rogers is out for the season with a torn Achilles or about to stage a miraculous return after taking part in a warm-up on Sunday at the MetLife Stadium.
Either way, he has been using his time between physio sessions to launch a new Chronomaster Sport for Zenith in the green and white colors of the Jets.
Mr Rogers, who has been a brand ambassador for Zenith since 2021, was involved in the design of the steel-on-steel limited edition, which has an emerald green dial with its three snailed sub dials in anthracite, light grey and silver.
Applied hour markers have been redesigned to look like players’ jersey numbers.
It is powered by Zenith’s automatic El Primero movement, with a chronograph capable of measuring to 1/10th of a second.
The movement is visible via an exhibition case back carrying Mr Rogers’ AR logo.
It is being produced in a limited run of 250 pieces that go on sale on November 2 at Zenith’s online and physical boutiques.
Retail price will be for $12,800.
“I’m so thankful to Zenith for giving me the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream of designing my very own watch,” Mr Rogers says.
“Visiting their manufacture last year gave me an even deeper appreciation of their craftsmanship and dedication to excellence. Working with their team to incorporate all the different elements I wanted to include was a fun adventure and I couldn’t be happier to see our vision come to life in this watch,” he adds.
