Citizen’s highly anticipated Promaster Mechanical Diver 200m became available for pre-sale this week.
The popular model is inspired by the 1977 Challenge Diver, which was a style that gained a reputation for being robust, especially after one was found, fully functioning, on Long Reef Beach in Australia in 1983, despite having been under water for years and being covered in barnacles and hardened sediment.
It comes in two different styles, a black dial and bezel with Super Titanium™ (Duratect TIC) black urethane band and a blue dial and bezel with Super Titanium™ (Duratect TIC) bracelet.
The new Mechanical Diver 200m is powered by a Cal. 9051 movement, which uses anti-magnetic materials for the balance spring and surrounding components.
The cases are made of lightweight, scratch-resistant Super TitaniumTM, making them thinner for a more comfortable fit. The watches are also ISO compliant*２ diver’s watches up to 200 meters. They can run for 42 hours when fully wound, with daily accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds.
