Christopher Ward has given one of its C63 Ukraine Limited Edition watches to Daniil Petrov, a Ukrainian refugee staying in the UK since escaping his war torn country.
Mr Petrov is staying with his family at the home of Mark Wallace, a fan of Christopher Ward.
The Ukrainian recently celebrated his 18th birthday and Mr Wallace wanted to mark the occasion with a Christopher Ward watch.
What better model to go for than the C63 Ukraine Limited Edition, which has a dial in the colours of the Ukrainian flag?
Only 300 were made, which sold out in hours, helping to raise over £115,000 (approx. $140,000) for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
But Christopher Ward CEO Mike France was contacted by Mr Wallace to see if there might be one left for Mr Petrov’s birthday.
“Luckily, we managed to locate one for him. We were incredibly honoured that he’d thought of us,” Mr France reveals.
Mr Petrov’s birthday happened to fall close to Everton Football Club’s pre-season friendly against Dynamo Kyiv, a charity fundraiser at Goodison Park supporting humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
Since Christopher Ward is the Official Global Timing Partner of Everton Football Club, Mr France thought it would be the perfect opportunity to present the C63 Ukraine Limited Edition.
Mr Wallace and the Petrov family attended the game where Daniil was presented the watch by Christopher Ward and Everton before kick-off.
