BALL Watches lights up revival Engineer Hydrocarbon watches

Engineer Hydrocarbon Original balances functionality with design in a sporty and sophisticated-looking timepiece.

BALL Watches is legendary for its rugged tool watches that come to life in the harshest conditions.

Its Engineer Hydrocarbon Original is a classic example, a collection of dive watches lit up by luminous gas tubes underneath the dial so they can be read deep underwater.

BALL Watches has introduced versions with blue and green dials and matching ceramic bezels this year, both of which launched this fall on a steel bracelet or rubber strap.

Engineer Hydrocarbon Original balances functionality with design in a sporty and sophisticated-looking timepiece.

They are water-resistant to 200m/660 ft and have micro tubes of H₃ gas inside the sapphire bezel, on the hands and, for the first time, under the dial.

This cutting-edge Swiss technology does not require an external charging source and consists of glass micro capsules filled with gas. These are up to 100 times brighter than the Super LumiNova paint usually used in the watchmaking industry.

The 43mm steel watches are powered by the COSC-certified automatic calibre BALL RR1102-CSL, which is protected by a patented Amortiser shockproof system to survive shocks of up to 7,500 G and anti-magnetic to 80,000 A/m thanks to the mu-metal shielding.
