Olivia Burton catches the limited edition bug

Movado Group brand is taking lessons from its more expensive watchmaking peers by making limited editions at major markups.

Olivia Burton, a British fashion watch business bought by Movado Group in 2017, is taking lessons from its more expensive watchmaking peers by making limited editions at major markups.

Core collection versions of the brand’s Under the Sea are retailing today for $150 to $180 but, with the addition of Swarovski crystals and tiny faux pearls around the dial, the price doubles to $340.

Olivia Burton says it is making only 550 of the new watches for the entire world, each engraved on the back with its unique number.

They have sunray dials in steel or rose gold plated circular cases housing quartz movements.
