G-Shock enters the metaverse with Virtual G-Shock in The Sandbox

Gamers and avatars alike can now don the brand's signature stealthy style

Casio is taking the legendary G-Shock brand into the digital future with the launch of Virtual G-Shock in The Sandbox metaverse. From 24 September 2025, fans can step into an immersive, gamified world that celebrates the brand’s robust aesthetic and instantly recognizable style.

At the center of the experience is G-Shock City, a virtual playground where gamers can explore the brand’s history through adventure-style gameplay and shock-resistance-inspired survival races.

This interactive space allows visitors to learn about some of the watchmaking’s toughest models while unlocking digital collectibles and limited-edition NFTs.

To mark the launch, G-Shock will debut its first official robot-inspired NFT avatar collection for The Sandbox. Inspired by five of the brand’s most popular models – DW-5600, DW-6900, GA-110, GA-2100, and the oversized GA-V01 – each avatar offers unique designs and gameplay perks exclusive to The Sandbox ecosystem.

Where film might now be heading to an obsolete realm of product placement (though IWC might have done enough to convince us otherwise), this metaverse project offers a glimpse of future-forward marketing and cutting-edge digital innovation, creating a space where watch enthusiasts, gamers, and NFT collectors can connect.
