G-Shock is entering a new era of design with the launch of the MTGB4000, the first timepiece in its MT-G line created using both human creativity and AI technology.
Two new models, the MTGB4000-1A and MTGB4000B1A2, combine G-SHOCK’s signature toughness with futuristic design, retailing at $1,250 and $1,350 respectively.
Designers started with hand-drawn sketches, then used AI to enhance the structure and performance of the case. The result is a bold, lightweight and shock-resistant watch crafted from laminated carbon and glass fiber, with a new Dual Core Guard structure that strengthens the case and absorbs impact.
The MTGB4000B1A2 stands out with a blue-grey ion-plated finish, while both models feature Sallaz-polished bezels, hairline and mirror-finished metal surfaces, and a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. The case back is crafted with metal injection molding (MIM) for added durability and detail.
Packed with intelligent (as you’d expect) features, the MTGB4000 includes the brand’s Triple G Resist, Tough Solar power, Smartphone Link, Multi-Band 6 radio control, and a Super Illuminator LED. It also offers a stopwatch, countdown timer, alarm, world time in 27 cities, and more
Each is water resistant to 200 meters, and is designed and manufactured in Japan at Yamagata Casio. AI might be coming for our jobs, but at least they can make a good watch.
