Citizen has us all dreaming of summer holidays in azure seas with the release of an ocean-blue dial color introduced across six United with Blue watches.
They span the watchmaker’s line-up from feminine cocktail watches to racy chronographs and divers and share a dial treatment that not only conjurs up images of the deep blue, but also reflects light so that they subtly change color like the surface of the ocean.
The mood board for the watches was named Sea of Silence, and involved developing pigment-free ink for the refractive surface of the dials that allows light through to keep the Eco-Drive quartz movement charged.
Each of the core Citizen collections has a reference in the United line-up.
