Alaskan Solstice lights-up Revival family of Swiss-made automatics

Priced at just $795, the versatile automatics arrive with high end touches of pricier rivals.

Solstice watch founder and owner Savaty Reutov is pouring his passion for horology into a fresh collection of Swiss-made automatics with precision dials for under $800.

The Alaska-based entrepreneur describes the new Revival family as his moonshot attempt to make the watches he always wanted under the Solstice marque.

“I named it The Revival because it represents my last shot at making Solstice a success,” he admits.

“When I started three years ago, I launched with simple homage-style pieces, hoping to sell them, make some profit and put that money to eventually create a fully custom Swiss-made watch I could be proud of. But those early quartz models never took off — I barely broke even and lost a lot of money building this brand from the ground up. Now, I’m going all-in, making the watch I always dreamed of. This release is the revival of my brand. The watch will define Solstice and determine its future,” he declares.

Pivoting into the hyper-competitive market for sporty automatics is a risk, but Mr Reutov believes the Revival collection offers market-leading value for money.

“What sets us apart is our original, unique, 3D dial pattern that you won’t find anywhere else. This detail adds a level of appreciation among collectors, knowing they own something truly distinctive,” he says. “Our finish quality surpasses all microbrands under $800, delivering a refined timepiece without the luxury price tag. Most brands offering a Swiss movement and 10 levels of finishing with a CNC machine are priced at $1,200 and above, yet they don’t provide the same value with the extras included with the watch that we do,” he adds.

Solstice Revival Automatics are versatile three-handers in 40mm tonneau-shaped cases with interchangeable steel bracelets or leather straps.

They are powered by Swiss-made Sellita SW200-1 movements with customised Solstice rotors.

Star of the show is a three-dimensional dial made up of interlocking Tetris-like blocks, which is offered in white or pale blue in polished and brushed steel models and a deep ivy green for a gold-coloured piece.

Lume-filled hands and applied hour markers complete the highly wearable but luxurious feel.

All three models are on sale now for $795 at solsticewatches.com.
