Maurice de Mauriac x Racquet have unveiled the third edition of a tennis-inspired wristwatch collaboration with LA-based designer Carlton DeWoody.
The new watch has a green dial that takes its look from lawn tennis courts and includes 18ct rose gold components for the first time in this tennis series.
The green dial is contrasted to a tan strap – this ‘green-over-tan’ look is a nod to the motoring color scheme of British Racing Green bodywork paired to tan leather seats, a classic car favorite.
The leather strap can be swapped out for an included flexible fabric strap of the same color.
It has a 39mm stainless steel case and is powered by a Swiss Landeron automatic movement.
The movement is visible through a sapphire crystal caseback.
“I aimed to bridge past and present, reinterpreting classic design with a contemporary lens”, DeWoody said.
“I have an affinity for vintage chronographs, often seeking out references with unusual patterns, typefaces and other graphic details. The colourful sub-dials and patterning of yachting and racing dials were the perfect inspiration for the partnership”.
Maurice de Mauriac is a Zurich-based boutique watch company and Racquet is a quarterly magazine and tennis magazine.
The Maurice de Mauriac x Racquet Rallymaster III is a limited edition of 100 pieces. Price is $2400 at mdm-watches.com
