Roger Dubuis has unveiled a new version of its Orbis in Machina Central Monotourbillon.
The new watch, presented at Watches & Wonders Shanghai, has a dial and bezel decorated with diamonds and rubies.
It is the latest version of a technical masterpiece first shown earlier this year.
The central tourbillon has become a focus for the brand, a set-up that requires extra technical adaptation.
The novel approach has involved the creation of two Roger Dubuis systems that have patents pending.
There is the innovative “planetary system”, a specialised geartrain that gives a cleaner look and provides more space for the surrounding aesthetics.
There is also a patent pending for the friction clutch-release system that allows the hands to be released for time-setting.
Working out from the centre of the dial, concentric circles in pink gold indicate the seconds, minutes, and hours.
The new version features 132 baguette-cut stones around the dial and bezel.
The 45mm case is in 18K pink gold and comes on a red calf leather strap.
It is powered by the 283-component Calibre RD115 automatic movement.
The Roger Dubuis Orbis in Machina Central Monotourbillon is a limited edition of eight watches. POA rogerdubuis.com
