Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier’s dream team expands into USA

Renaud Tixier's indie horological hothouse expands over The Pond into Cellini and Oster

Independent haute horlogerie brand Renaud Tixier has entered the US market. The marque was founded by Dominique Renaud, best known as co-founder of Renaud et Papi: renowned manufacturer of complex complications for the likes of Richard Mille that was acquired by Audemars Piguet back in 1992, now known as APLL, after its hometown of Le Locle.

Alongside Renaud is Julian Tixier who, a just 32, is already considered one of the most gifted watchmakers of his generation. The duo intend, through a series of seven timepieces, to challenge standard watchmaking conventions. Its first watch Monday contains a patented central inertia wheel which optimises the efficiencies of the micro rotor meaning that, despite a single mainspring barrel, has the capability of generating up to 60 hours of power reserve.

This timepiece will now be available to US connoisseurs thanks to new partnerships with Cellini, an iconic Manhattan retailer specialising in rare and extraordinary timepieces, and Oster Jewelers in Denver (owners Missy and Jeremy pictured above), a similarly discerning retailer that takes pride in promoting independent watchmakers. The move not only highlights Renaud Tixierr’s growing reputation but also marks out the US market as a primary force for growth in the independent sector.

“When I first discovered the Monday, it was clear Renaud Tixier was doing something special,” says Jeremy Oster, founder of Oster Jewelers. “Their technical creativity paired with stunning finishing and thoughtful design is a winning combination. Dominique Renaud’s extraordinary experience and reputation combined with Julien Tixier’s immense emerging talent immediately struck me as something with unlimited potential that we knew would resonate with our clientele and beyond.”

This new chapter in Renaud Tixier’s expansion reflects the brand’s broader commitment to thoughtful, sustainable growth through curated retail relationships and, with a burgeoning US interest in high-end independent brands, it’s a smart move that will cement its reputation as an exciting new name to watch.
