Rado has added some strong new colors to both its True Square and Captain Cook ranges.
The True Square gets a new all-yellow version, with the ceramic case twinned with a ceramic-topped yellow rubber strap.
The skeletonized top plate and dial assembly, coupled with a flat sapphire crystal on the back, give a view of the movement from both sides.
There are also two new colors in the signature Captain Cook range.
The Captain Cook, with 43mm ceramic case, is now available with the polished monobloc blue case matched to polished bezel inserts in either yellow or orange.
The bezel features lacquered markers at each five-minute mark and a white Superluminova triangle at 12 o’clock.
The Captain Cook also has a sapphire crystal fitted to the titanium case back to allow a full view of the skeletonised movement.
The Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton is a limited edition of 262 pieces.
Both the Captain Cook and True Square are fitted with Rado’s R808 automatic movement with 80 hours of power reserve and antimagnetic Nivachron hairspring.
The rubber straps are made to be very resilient, and also adapt quickly to skin temperature for maximum comfort.
Lots of watch companies now work with strong, lightweight ceramic, but Rado – the self-styled ‘Master of Materials’ – can rightly claim to be a pioneer, first working with ceramic way back in the mid 1980s.
The Rado Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton costs $4,400 and the True Square Skeleton costs $2,500. rado.com
