Orient Star launches two new models with world-first nanopartical metal dial

The M34 F8 Date watches join the meteor-inspired Contemporary Collection

Orient Star has introduced two new M34 F8 Date models to its Contemporary Collection, featuring dials inspired by the Perseid meteor shower.

These timepieces showcase forward-thinking engineering, including a world-first nanoparticle metal multilayering technology to decorate its dial.

The standout black dial version ($2,900) is limited to just 160 pieces and utilizes nanoparticle metal ink layered multiple times to create a stunning, deep-space effect.

Here, this innovative method – commonly used in electronics – is being applied to watchmaking for the first time, giving the dial a unique texture and rich visual depth, enhanced by mirror-polished indices and a diamond-cut date window.

The second model ($2,700) features a new green dial using Orient Star’s optical multilayer film technology. This advanced process manipulates light reflection on the dial, creating shifting colors and patterns that resemble meteors shooting through space.

Both watches feature the in-house automatic F8N64 movement with a silicon escape wheel, offering high precision (+15/-5 seconds per day) and a 60-hour power reserve.

The dials are handcrafted at Orient Star’s Dial Studio in Nagano, Japan.

Each 40mm stainless steel case is water-resistant to 10 bar and fitted with dual-curved sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating.

A sapphire caseback reveals the decorated movement with Geneva stripes.
